Atelierhaus Aachen e.V. welcomes submissions for the group exhibition COMMON GEOSTORY: an open call for artists who thematically consider the relationship of people and narratives related to 'grounds' in the Euregion. In this day and age, nature is shifting from being something that used to be outside the social structure - to an existential question. Nature is no longer outside us. The philosopher Bruno Latour argues that there is an urgent need for new stories. A ''Common Geostory'' to make the state of our planet a matter of concern for everyone. Stories of migration play an important role here, as does industrial and economic history, which has left a lasting mark on landscape and people.

COMMON GEOSTORY is part of the bigger art and exhibition project RAUM DENKEN | IMAGINER L'ESPACE | WAT IS RUIMTE that seeks to examine socio-spatial discourses, recognising Central Europe and especially the Euregio Meuse-Rhine as a cultural space that massivly influences - and is influenced by - larger parts of Europe and the world. Questions of belonging will come into discussion, as well as industrial and economic developments and their impact, and shared or clashing values.

RAUM DENKEN | IMAGINER L'ESPACE | WAT IS RUIMTE is supported and funded by
